About the Event

Whoever you are, JOIN US!

11am, Saturday 12th February, at the beautiful Reliance pub in Shoreditch, in the private function room upstairs.

Spend a full day constructing a handful of new poems.

We'll order teas/coffees. Then do some warm-up writing exercises. Then settle in for a friendly, no-pressure writing workshop.

We'll walk you through it all, with carefully designed creative writing exercises, to help you weave your own way some new poems. And you won't have to share or read out loud in front of the group (unless you feel like it!)

We'll take a break, have lunch together, then do a final short writing session, before we relax with a late afternoon drink in the pub upstairs.

+ We'll give you a free book!

...

If you haven't been to any of our sessions before, please feel completely free to join. We welcome everybody from every conceivable background, especially newcomers (only a small handful of the people in the class are likely to know each other - so there'll be new, friendly faces all around).

No pressure to read or share your work with the group.

No experience of writing is necessary.

The day of workshops includes:

  • A Reliance pub lunch
  • A tea or coffee
  • 2 x 2-hour writing workshops with surrealism as a theme
  • A late afternoon drink
  • A free book!
  • And lots of shared wisdom and expertise
  • + the opportunity (and discipline) you need to write a brand new piece of fiction
