The aim of the 3 Week Course is to produce something more substantial than we’re able to put together in a one-off session.

For you, this might be the beginning of a novel, or a short piece of fiction, a memoir, a series of flash fictions, or maybe even a saga.

Come and meet us at the amazing Courthouse Hotel in Shoreditch at 6:30pm each Thursday. The sessions will begin at 7pm (no later), so this will give you plenty of time to find us and get yourself a drink at the bar.

In the first session there will be a FREE Penguin book for each person to take home and keep. In subsequent sessions, you’ll receive handouts, with guidance and pointers to help you improve your writing. In each session, we'll also provide some free snacks. This will help you enjoy your drink (and your writing) just that little bit more!

We’ll work together on character, perspective, tone, and dialogue, and instead of using a rigid plot structure, we’ll be using methods that encourage spontaneity.

By the end of the three weeks, you ought to have a fair amount written. We'll even invite you to publish all or part of it in our online journal (though, of course, you won't have to if you don't want to!).

If you want to have a beer or a glass of wine (during/after each session) and surprise yourself doing something fun and spontaneous, this event is for you!
