About the Event
Whoever you are, JOIN US!
We're excited to be back in person, with semi-regularity this side of the pandemic.
Book your spot, then come along at 11am, Saturday 13th November, at the beautiful Finch's Pub in Old Street, in the private function room in their astonishing basement bar.
Spend a full day constructing a unique, exciting narrative, with inspiration from the city of London + a host of literary excerpts from authors discussing city life elsewhere.
We'll order breakfast. Then do some warm-up writing exercises. Eat our breakfast. Then have some teas/coffees. Then we'll settle in for a friendly, no-pressure writing workshop. Theme: the city and city life.
We'll give you plenty of breaks throughout the day.
What's more, we'll walk you through everything, step-by-step, with carefully designed exercises, to help you weave your own new piece of fiction. And you won't have to share or read out loud in front of the group (unless you feel like it!)
When we've got loads of writing done, we'll invite you to relax with a late afternoon drink in the pub upstairs.
+ We'll give you a free book!
If you haven't been to any of our sessions before, please feel completly free to join. We welcome everybody from every conceivable background, especially newcomers (only a small handful of the people in the class are likely to know each other - so there'll be new, friendly faces all round).
No pressure to read or share your work with the group.
No experience of writing is necessary.
The day of workshops includes:
- A Finch's pub breakfast
- A tea or coffee
- 2 x 2-hour writing workshops with surrealism as a theme
- A late afternoon drink
- A free book!
- And lots of shared wisdom and expertise
- + the opportunity (and discipline) you need to write a brand new piece of fiction
Please don't hesitate to text if you have any questions - we'll be happy to help: 07534981636.
